Summer Break, But Make It Entrepreneurial

School’s out, and NFTE Summer BizCamps are in session. Across the country, students are showing up with ideas and putting in the work to turn them into something real. They’re spending part of their summer learning how to think like entrepreneurs.

With support from NFTE educators, alumni, and volunteers, students are getting hands-on experience with budgeting, public speaking, and business strategy. Each BizCamp ends with a fast pitch, where students present their ideas to a panel of judges.

NFTE students leave with fresh perspective and the confidence to keep going, because once you’ve taken that first step, the next one feels possible.

Road to Nationals

Our final Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenges have officially wrapped up! In the final stretch of this year’s regional season, students in the West, New England, and Mid-Atlantic regions brought their best to the stage.

On May 31, the West Challenge featured ideas like an anonymous mental health app, a wearable that reads blood alcohol content, and a platform for trading video games.

Just a few days later on June 3, New England students shared ventures including personalized coloring books that help kids take a break from screens, eco-friendly ribbon flower arrangements, and hybrid outdoor gear that blends golf and fishing.

The final regional challenge of the season was on June 16 in the Mid-Atlantic region. Students pitched ideas like a gamified STEM learning platform, inclusive video games designed for players with physical disabilities, and affordable athletic apparel for school teams.

Now we're counting down to the NFTE National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in New York City on Oct. 8. Stay connected and catch all the latest updates on our website!

Big Ideas Start with Great Teachers

Watch Here

Behind every student who steps up to pitch an idea is a teacher who helped them believe they could. This May and June, as we wrapped up Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenges across all seven NFTE regions, we celebrated educators who make this work possible.

At each event, we recognized an Emerging Teacher of the Year and a Veteran Teacher of the Year, educators who go above and beyond to bring the entrepreneurial mindset to life in their classrooms.

Yes, we’re big fans of NFTE teachers. So much so that our team even recorded a song about them.

How Volunteers Help Bring Student Ideas to Life

This year’s seven Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenges reminded us just how many people work behind the scenes to make these moments possible.

But what happens on competition day is only part of the story. All year long, NFTE students had the support of a dedicated network of volunteers who served as coaches, speakers, and early-round judges.

In May and June, that support continued with more than 30 final-round judges across 7 regions. Their insight and encouragement pushed students to think deeper, pitch with confidence, and take pride in their ideas. NFTE’s mission comes to life through moments like these!

Supporter Spotlight

We’re thrilled to announce an expanded partnership with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unity Foundation to launch a series of summer BizCamps in cities across the U.S. The first camp kicked off this month in Shreveport, Louisiana, in partnership with the Inner City Entrepreneur Institute.

The BizCamp program is strongly aligned with the G-Unity Foundation's goals to give young people the tools, guidance, and confidence to take control of their futures. Upcoming camps are planned in Los Angeles, Orlando, Minneapolis, and Washington, D.C.
